Call the Midwife Baby Blanket

IMG_3238I used to watch Call the Midwife on TV, and when I saw this pattern, I decided I had to make it.  I had never done Fillet crochet before, and am still nervous about thread crochet, but this was a thin baby yarn that I used.  I believe it was Bernat Baby Soft.  I really love how the blanket came out and ended up making a couple.  The other one was trimmed with a chocolate brown, because I ran out of the white.  I just gave it away to a friend who has a brand new grandbaby.

The pattern came from Little Monkeys Crochet.IMG_3237

Granny Square Baby Blanket

IMG_3235I had a bunch of different colors of yarn that I wanted to use up after completing another blanket and used most of them on this!  It was a very basic granny square, and quick to work, but I love the colors!  I used Red Heart With Love, which is probably my favorite acrylic right now.

The pattern came from Daisy Cottage Designs, and while she calls it a baby blanket, really, it’s big enough to be a lap afghan.

Rolling Ridge Blanket

IMG_3226This is a blanket I finished awhile ago – no recipient yet, but maybe a REALLY good friend will have a baby sometime.  It was a pain in the butt to finish, as each row required ending the yarn and starting a new one.

I got the pattern from Susan Carlson at Felted Button.  Love the way it turned out, but tucking in all those ends! 🙂

I did mainly use the called for yarns – Martha Stewart Wool Blend and Cotton Ease.  Loved the feel of them both.  This was the first pattern I used that made the loops that braided together.
